YMCA Rockies - Ready for August 2011

Thurs July 28 - We arrive, get badges, lodging and volunteer assignments and are ready for August

Lily Lake Ridge

Saturday July 30 - We survive the "bear mania" and have a nice walk up Lily Ridge Trail 0.7 miles, just about right and beautiful weather.

End of Day at Lily Lake

Bear Sighting

Saturday evening July 30 - On the way to Lily Lake, Fran --- STOP THE CAR!!! BEAR !!!!
Clyde pulls over and I grab the camera.  Two minutes later, there are 5 cars stopped behind us.
A typical sight here - a "knot" of cars usually means - animals ahead.

Another Cloud - Taos

Sunday morning – another impressive cloud

We drove to Taos for lunch at El Monte and visiting the hotel art galleries.

On our way to Shakespeare’s Merry Wives of Windsor(tickets for that evening), we drove through the art village of Arroyo Seco.  Our favorite art piece was a Chevy truck

Angle Fire – in the 70’s and light rain in the evening
We attend - garden show and a tour of a house we all wish for – 3 ponds/waterfalls, two years to build

Impressive cloud

Hummingbird - in a holding pattern for the feeder

But it’s not all play and no work for Larry Curly and Moe

Summer/Fall 2011

Summer/Fall 2011
This year will be a little different from the past – July 21-27, we spend with the Goodwins and Rogers at the Goodwin’s cabin in Angle Fire NM.
On the 28th we drive north to YMCA of the Rockies, Estes Park.  We will be volunteering at the “Y” for the month of Aug.  Bobbie will be helping out on the Crafts/Design program and I will be helping in the audio/visual dept.
We return home Sept 1, make friends with Augie again, pack and leave Sept 8 for “Great Rivers of Europe and Prague” trip with our Italian buddies, arriving back home Sept 28.
Our Fall will be spent – with a photography trip/workshop in Texas in Oct and then off to Calif Redwoods in Nov for a Murder Mystery weekend with our Italian buddies.  Ok, so off  we go.
